Good job! Shadows was really important there and you nailed it!

as of the gender thing, you mean the kid? he's a boy! The shadow/ghost thing... I'm not too sure, these aren't my characters and since all official information about them is in japanese... I don't really know, I *think* he's supposed to be a boy too.
As of the background thing, I kinda thought about making a full scene instead of just a floating sprite but since I had to get this done in a short time because pixel dailies I decided against it
